Where are they now, the sons of Éireann
They are dead, sleeping today, in the house of God
But they will awaken IN the time to come
In the home of the Angels, at the start of the day.

Don’t be sad about them
It is not the death that is horrible
It is good thing because it is true
That they will awaken at Gods side tomorrow…

Whether they fought for the Empire, or an independent Ireland, for cash or conviction, for faith or for family, the sons of Eireann lie on battlefields and cemeteries across this country and indeed the globe…
