The world in places a desert
Where water does not flow,
Water flows down so deep
Where no mere well drilling rig can go.
Yet out at sea and over land,
For which few men do toil,
From as deep and deeper still,
Great big rigs drill for oil.
Could we not adapt this technology
With all our brains and hands…
To stop the drought throughout the world
Build these in desert sands?
Or is the truth that to water the poor,
There is no money to be made,
They will not admit to it if asked,
But that that is true, I am afraid.
