Hungry Gulls Say Hello

Seagulls on Eyre Square
Seagulls on Eyre Square

Hungry gulls came to say hello
Screeching loud so I would know
Joined by pidgeons, and a crow
As I sat eating on Eyre Square

I ate a bit, I threw to them some
Which caused a flurry more to come
To fight, the strongest takes the crumb
Of what to them is thrown there.

If man cant to birds be kind
May himself sometime somewhere find
He like the birds has to skreetch to remind
That hunger is their pain.

So I with the birds share what I eat
They fly and peck around my feet
Eat whether is there beneath
As I, glad of their company, eating, remain!

Have your say...
