George Floyd – A Short Elegy

George Floyd
George Floyd

He served his time for the crimes he had done –
Whether sentences given is enough or not,
Is the victims right to question and call –
But let it not be forgot
Every saint has a past gone by…
Every sinner a future to come…
Dont condemn a man for life
For where he came from…

He died being arrested for such a crime –
Imagine now if you will,
Because it was alleged – not tried, not proved
He passed in a shop a false twenty dollar bill.
Ireland, for all its faults,
For doing so you would be only barred
Thats why the world is up in anger
The name of the “Land of the Free” forever marred…

US $20 United States twenty-dollar bill – Price of a life in America

Have your say...
