Visiting a Church at Vršac

Theodore's of Vrsac
Theodore’s of Vrsac

This poem was written visiting Serbia for the first time nearly ten years ago now, if not more…

It stands there like a church of age
Candles burning, Icons holy on show
And the visitor thinks its there a while
That the churches history does not know

It is only built in recent years
As thanks for fortune good in life of a man
A gift to God, built in stone
We should do the same if we can

Not build a church, a deed so grand
But something to give to God we should do
To show gratitude for prayers answered
And give thanks for God watching over you…

Have your say...
