A hen carried becomes heavy when held long enough an Irish proverb says

A hen is a bird any man he can carry
For she in weight she is light
Any man weak he can lift her
He needs no great strength or might
But walk a long road with her
And light and all she may be
To the strongest man who carries her
She shall soon seem heavy.
It is with tasks that we take on
We see time and again and again
What seems at the start to be easy
Can be as hard as holding the hen
When the road is long and the walker does tire
And leave down the hen he desires to do
But he cant, for she’ll escape or be eaten
And its all because of the walker who is you.
So be careful what you take on in life
Be cautious the tasks to which you agree
Or you’ll walk a long road with a heavy hen
And that bird so light will prove heavy to be.

Have your say...
