Why God Made The World
The multicolours of the sky
And end of day and birth of new
As to the reason of as to why
The world was created, He then knew
It was for its beauty, as seen here
A dawn / dusk sky of purple hue
Against which a tree silhouette does appear
Much fairer sights to see are few.

Walking As One With the Woods
From the branches, voices whisper
Singing soft low songs, in the breeze
The more we listen, less we hear
From the low chorus of the trees
When we don’t listen, more we hear
Music echoes through the leaves
The chorus of the Tree Spirits
Hiding in shadows like thieves.
Ghosts gone, of an age now long past
When druids loud chants echoed i [...]

Ten Ducklings and Three Men
Tony Kahn, a Boston DJ, told of a story how a
ducks loss of all her chicks led him to meet and bond
with the rough people from quite literally the wrong
side of the road.
In the quietness of the evening
Towards the end of day,
A duck and ten ducklings
Slowly made their way
Towards a pond at the end of the road
Across a road of traffic lanes t [...]
And Rivers Flowed Where Once Was Only...
(french sonnet)
And rivers flowed where once was only sand
And there was fresh water for all at hand
And all drank their fill and they splashed around
And fought fierce over this water they found
Though from where it came none could understand
None cared, good was the water of the ground.

Mother Earths Tummy Grumbles
The ice is belching to the sky
As the world stomach rumbles
And no planes are able to fly
While its tummy grumbles.
Is this the worlds way of saying
That us flying is making it ill?
And that of our pollution
Mother earth has had her fill?

A City Slowly Comes to Life
A city slowly comes to life
As the morning has begun
And I the task for to bask
I have started in the sun.
The world goes by in from of my eyes
All in a rush and frantic
I, the poet, prefer to take my time
I like it slow, more romantic.
Its not what you have that you enjoy
Its what of it you make
And I shall enjoy the day
Purely for its own [...]
A Gun Gets a Body – Not a Bird
A gun gives you the body, not the bird.
~Henry David Thoreau
A man went to get a bird
His child wanted one for fun
And to down the creature
He brought with him a gun
And out upon the moor on day
A flock flew above his head
He loaded, aimed and fired
And shot a bird down dead
And he went home happy
Rang his child, said he brought home a bird
A [...]
I Saw No Cows in Portugal
For and a half hours I sat there
Speeding on a train
Through green fields that looked quite barren
And only one image does remain
In a land full of fields and greenery
As Irish I wonder how
Can you have fields, though poor be the grass
And yet I never saw a cow…

Gods Guidance At the Eye of the Storm
Walked where others feared
Only knew after the storm
Which they had weathered.
Guided by the unknown hand
To safety – the hand of God.

Treat People Like People
When you see another as the enemy
That is what he will be for you
And his children for our children
Shall see each other that way too
If you treat people like people
Hatred and suspicions shall end
And the other will be a person
And you who treated them so maybe a friend…
Remember, the only ones who see all others as enemies
It is the b [...]
Two Birds Felled With One Stone
With one stone cast two birds fell dead,
The act, how did he do?
Was his aim all that great
He who by the stone was threw?
And of his skill should he be proud?
Such a thing to do?
What was the secret to his skill
Of which he boasted he could do?
Ah, no the faker, it was not so
The truth must be confessed
The stone was thrown from a meter high [...]
And None Had Passed That Way Before
And none had passed that way before
At least not for a while
And for the walker these trees and fences
Prove a challenge and a trial.
As the way through was battered by kicking limbs
As to bother walking was wondered why
The effort, the discomfort and the pain
By the walker who was I.
And upon clearing a path
I picked up the dropped matches
T [...]
A Calm Set in After the Storm
Where once the water thrashed about
The water gently laps
Like two boorish drunken men
That when sober are pleasant chaps.
And the wind that wildly raged
Not a long time before
Is but a breeze to chill the skin
And wages wild no more…
And the trees that creaked in the breeze
Just wave their branches like arms
And the night that before [...]
Life Goes On
In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life — It goes on.
~ Robert Frost
Through wars and economic depressions
Marriage breakups and more
After all kinds of conflict
Life goes on as before.
So let life not cause you worry
It will sort itself out in its own way
Tomorrow it will all be over…
Tomorrow is another da [...]
The Sleeping Sentry
The dog sleeping on the doorstep
Keeps the cats away
For they cant enter while hes there
And upon the couches play.
So to torment birds the cat set
And to slink around the garden
Maybe climb through an open window
Without as much as “beg your pardon”
The dog sleeping on the doorstep
Who tries to keep cats out
Fails when windows are open
To s [...]
Open Sky and Shining Sun
Read this poem in Italian
An open sky and shining sun
And not a cloud to be seen
Is but a picture on a postcard
Of some place I have been
As I look out at the rain
That never seems to cease
What good is good weather I ask
If people don’t know peace?

Clouds Write Poetry – Svetlana ...
The clouds themselves, arranged by the wind
Write poems exquisite in the sky
In an alphabet to man unknown
Read by angels fluent that fly
Fanning the winds that write the words
That tell tales unknown to man
And those passed that others call dead…
Able to read these poems, they can.

The Snowflake
In a snowstorm, myself I once found
With the fields and the trees all white around
Dresses in black onthis carpet of white
I slowly walked in the moons pale light.
As around I gazed at this world of charm
A Single snowflake landed on my arm
I looked at it closely, saw how it was set,
As slowly it melted in the heat of my breath
Now melted, ab [...]
What the Moon Sees from Behind Clouds
Slurring his words, he speaks to others
Who let on to listen, to be polite
But wish he was anywhere bar here
Resent his ruining of their night…
Grimaces hidden by forced smiles
He sings a song, cant hold a tune
Outside, a dog howls, another cries
Every night witnessed by the cloud hidden moon
A Tale of Two Wolves
The Germans a story tell
American natives tell one like it as well
Of two wolves that in us dwell
In each and every man
That howl to the sky of our soul
An in our lives each play a role
In their own way make mankind whole
Have done so since time began
One causes within us hate
Laziness, makes a man irate
Wants, without effort to gain, compens [...]
Here Once The English Lived
Georgian Houses in Dublin
Here once the English lived
In houses of red brick grand
And after them,in tenements
The underclass, who, like the sand
Were innumerable, and everywhere
With rough accents and Gaelic names
But now are few once again here
As are the flowing sand grains.
Of Gaelic names some who live here are
But they are not of the [...]
Snakes All Around Us – The Lege...
Author’s Note: In the October 1, 2006 edition of Sunday Word, an Irish Sunday newspaper, Fr. Brian D’Arcy quoted a tale told by American actor Iron Eyes Cody. It is upon this tale from Iron Eyes Cody that the following story is based.
Once upon a time, as all braves must do, our hero set out to spend time in solitude so that he could fa [...]
The Web Wove on the Mouth of the Well
Where spirits dwell to man unknown
And ivy keeps out the sun
Insects live as have always lived
Trying to avoid the webs there spun
Hungry spider awaits his lunch
Surely some in time fall in
And walking by we careful step
To make sure we dont there join him.
