Lessons Learned from Bog Bodies

We live – or try to- in this our failed republic,
The joys and sorrows that that brings,
I read an article on bog body’s –
The ritually sacrificed kings,

At first I think it savage,
Cringe at the slaughter, how it wasn’t fair,
The king cant control the weather
Or the failed crops rotting there.

Then I thought – if that was TODAY
Would things be as they are as bad?
The more I thought of if it became a good idea…
For those peoples foresight I was glad…

Imagine them as sacrificed bog bodies…
The bankers, politicians and charity bosses…
Slaughtered by druids for bringing ruin on the people…
No so great societies losses.

We are the savage folk today,
As the great rob the poor bit by bit…
Far from sacrificing them to be found on a future day…
We let them away with it!
