He knelt in his parish church this morning
The world knew not his name
But God knew him – as strangers
On the Devils Agenda came.
Others came before them
Through the centuries, through the years
They murdered, ruled and terrified
People prayed through fearful tears.
In times past out in the colonies
In years not too long ago
We too did the same to other faiths
So they our faith would know.
Now its our turn again to be on the defensive
Who on our faith have relied
It saw us through darker times than these
We bury our dead – our time we bide
We know the sun will rise in the morning
As it did in dark times past history does tell
The innocent die at the hands of the guilty
But in time all will be well.
