Poets for Change is one of a number on online initiatives, from the Arab Spring in politics, to the arts world.
Poets are known for voicing the unspoken, and in that spirit American writer Michael Rothenberg thought up of an anarchic event, co-ordinated online, with local writers and poets organsiing sporadic arts events all on the same day.
And so Poets for Change was born.
Here in Ireland there are seven or so events, with the Tullamroe event being co-ordinated by Tomás.
It consists of a reading for Culture Night in Edenderry, a Poetry Cards in cafés and bookshops, an online poetry channel of videos, a specially produced video, and a function to aid PREDA foundation, all done by members of the Tullamore Rhymers Club.
