How many more, like them in their time
Jailed, being patriotic a crime
Men and women in their prime
Some set to be hung or shot.

When Dev was in Kilmainham, he
Followed by Bobby Sands would be
And more: the best Ireland had got.
Whether Kilmainham or the Maze
In these current or those more distant days
The same story always plays
Will it ever end? I think not.
